Site access
At Lascelles Wharf and Corio Quay North, workers who have completed GeelongPort's Site Access Induction swipe in with a GeelongPort Site Access Card or, without one, sign in at the Security Hut at the front gate; anyone who has not completed the induction is denied entry.
Your MSIC is a national card. An MSIC issued by ClientView is valid at the Port of Geelong and at every other security regulated port and offshore facility in Australia.
GeelongPort's own site access pages describe its Site Access Induction and Site Access Card but do not mention the MSIC, so an applicant who reads only GeelongPort's pages can miss that the MSIC is a separate Commonwealth requirement. You need both: the MSIC from an Australian Government authorised issuing body such as ClientView, and GeelongPort's induction and card, which start with your employer registering your company in GeelongPort's Donesafe system.

MSICs are issued by Australian Government authorised issuing bodies, and the card is national, so you can apply through any authorised issuing body and use the card at the Port of Geelong. ClientView is an authorised issuing body: the application runs fully online, identity is verified at one of at least 324 Australia Post outlets that offer the MSIC identity check (Australia Post outlet locator, 27 August 2026), and ready applications are lodged with AusCheck each business day. A Maritime Security Identification Card shows that you have met the background checking requirements for unmonitored access to a maritime security zone at an Australian port, on a ship or at an offshore facility. It is issued under the Maritime Transport and Offshore Facilities Security Regulations 2003, made under the Maritime Transport and Offshore Facilities Security Act 2003.

No. Any criminal history declaration required for an MSIC is made to AusCheck, not to ClientView. As your issuing body, ClientView does not collect or assess criminal history. AusCheck advises us of the outcome only.
Renew before the expiry date to keep continuous access, since an expired card means no unmonitored access from day one. If your card is lost, stolen or damaged, apply for a replacement straight away.
