This page separates the two stages of every MSIC application: the stage ClientView controls (verifying and lodging your application) and the stage AusCheck controls (the government background check). Figures below are measured from ClientView's own applications and cross-referenced with AusCheck's published guidance.
Stage 1 - ClientView: from a complete, paid, identity-verified application to lodgement with AusCheck. Measured median: 1 business day (12 months to June 2026). Stage 2 - AusCheck: the government background check itself, timed from the date AusCheck receives a complete application. This stage is outside any issuing body's control.
ClientView lodgement (Stage 1): median 1 business day, measured over the 12 months to June 2026.
AusCheck clearance (Stage 2): per AusCheck's own national guidance, 75% of applications are processed within 3 weeks (some take 3-8 weeks; a small number take longer, and AusCheck asks those applicants to make contact). ClientView's own measured results are faster: 98.7% of applications lodged by ClientView cleared within three weeks (January-June 2026 sample, 1,500 applications).
Underlying dataset: 3,832 ClientView applications over 18 months.
AusCheck's 75%-within-three-weeks figure is national guidance covering all issuing bodies. ClientView's 98.7% is our own measured result for applications lodged by ClientView specifically, over the same three-week window (January to June 2026 sample). We believe the gap reflects lodgement quality: a complete, accurate application gives AusCheck nothing to query. Both figures are stated here with their scope made explicit so neither is mistaken for the other. Percentile breakdowns beyond the median (75th/90th) are not yet available and will be added if collected in a future pass.
Stage 1 timing is measured internally by ClientView from the timestamp an application is marked complete, paid and identity-verified to the timestamp it is lodged with AusCheck, across all ClientView applications in the stated period. The 75% Stage 2 figure is AusCheck's own published national guidance, not independently audited by ClientView. The 98.7% figure is measured internally by ClientView from lodgement date to AusCheck approval date, for applications lodged by ClientView between January and June 2026 (1,500 applications); it describes ClientView's own applicants only and is not a benchmark of other issuing bodies. This page will be updated monthly.
