Pilbara Ports Authority, the state port authority, runs its own MSIC processing offices at Port Hedland and Dampier only, and does not process applications for Cape Lambert or Port Walcott.
The nearest Australia Post outlet offering the Maritime and Aviation Security ID Cards (MSIC, ASIC) service is Karratha Post Office, Lot 3915 Klenk St, Karratha WA 6714; Wickham and Roebourne Post Offices, both closer to the terminal, do not carry this service.

A Maritime Security Identification Card shows that you have met the background checking requirements for unmonitored access to a maritime security zone at an Australian port, on a ship or at an offshore facility. It is issued under the Maritime Transport and Offshore Facilities Security Regulations 2003, made under the Maritime Transport and Offshore Facilities Security Act 2003.

Renew before the expiry date to keep continuous access, since an expired card means no unmonitored access from day one. If your card is lost, stolen or damaged, apply for a replacement straight away.
