Site access
Your MSIC is a national card. An MSIC issued by ClientView is valid at the Port of Fremantle and at every other security regulated port and offshore facility in Australia.
Fremantle Ports and individual terminal operators may require local inductions or site access arrangements in addition to your MSIC, with separate arrangements across the Inner and Outer Harbour precincts. Confirm current local requirements with the terminal operator or your employer before your first visit.
Fremantle Ports confirms the MSIC applies to regulated port areas including several Fremantle Inner Harbour berths and the Kwinana Bulk Terminal, though it is not itself an access card. Read Fremantle Ports' MSIC page.
MSICs are issued by Australian Government authorised issuing bodies, and the card is national, so you can apply through any authorised issuing body and use the card at the Port of Fremantle. ClientView is an authorised issuing body: the application runs fully online, identity is verified at one of at least 324 Australia Post outlets that offer the MSIC identity check (Australia Post outlet locator, 27 August 2026), and ready applications are lodged with AusCheck each business day. A Maritime Security Identification Card shows that you have met the background checking requirements for unmonitored access to a maritime security zone at an Australian port, on a ship or at an offshore facility. It is issued under the Maritime Transport and Offshore Facilities Security Regulations 2003, made under the Maritime Transport and Offshore Facilities Security Act 2003.

Proof of identity documents, evidence of your right to work in Australia, a 10 year address history, and an operational need confirming why you require unmonitored access to a maritime security zone at least once each year (r. 6.07F(1)). We tell you exactly what to bring before you go to verify.
A written confirmation, usually from your employer, that your job genuinely requires unmonitored access to a maritime security zone at least once each year (r. 6.07F(1)). Without it an application cannot proceed. On our Silver and Gold levels we help you get it sorted.
No. Any criminal history declaration required for an MSIC is made to AusCheck, not to ClientView. As your issuing body, ClientView does not collect or assess criminal history. AusCheck advises us of the outcome only.
Renew before the expiry date to keep continuous access, since an expired card means no unmonitored access from day one. If your card is lost, stolen or damaged, apply for a replacement straight away.
