Your MSIC is a national card. An MSIC issued by ClientView is valid at Geraldton and at every other security regulated port and offshore facility in Australia.
Mid West Ports states that it must not allow a person to enter, or remain in, a maritime security zone unless the person is properly displaying a blue MSIC or a temporary MSIC, or is escorted by someone who is. It also requires your MSIC to be registered with Mid West Ports Authority before you gain access to the Geraldton port, regardless of which issuing body provided it, and all port access applications are submitted to the authority by email. A Maritime Security Identification Card shows that you have met the background checking requirements for unmonitored access to a maritime security zone at an Australian port, on a ship or at an offshore facility. It is issued under the Maritime Transport and Offshore Facilities Security Regulations 2003, made under the Maritime Transport and Offshore Facilities Security Act 2003.

Proof of identity documents, evidence of your right to work in Australia, a 10 year address history, and an operational need confirming why you require unmonitored access to a maritime security zone at least once each year (r. 6.07F(1)). We tell you exactly what to bring before you go to verify.
A written confirmation, usually from your employer, that your job genuinely requires unmonitored access to a maritime security zone at least once each year (r. 6.07F(1)). Without it an application cannot proceed. On our Silver and Gold levels we help you get it sorted.
No. Any criminal history declaration required for an MSIC is made to AusCheck, not to ClientView. As your issuing body, ClientView does not collect or assess criminal history. AusCheck advises us of the outcome only.
Renew before the expiry date to keep continuous access, since an expired card means no unmonitored access from day one. If your card is lost, stolen or damaged, apply for a replacement straight away.
