Albany, on Western Australia's south coast, exports grain, woodchips and mineral concentrates through its Southern Ports terminal.
Anyone who needs unescorted access to Albany's landside or waterside restricted zones must hold a valid MSIC, a Letter of Operational Need and completed induction. Southern Ports' Supervised Access Worker card only covers escorted access for up to five days under continuous MSIC-holder supervision, not ongoing unescorted entry.
ClientView is an Australian Government authorised MSIC issuing body. Apply online in 10 to 15 minutes, verify your identity at a participating Australia Post outlet in Albany, and we lodge every ready application with AusCheck each business day. Our measured median time from a complete application to AusCheck lodgement was 1 business day over the 12 months to June 2026. Start your application or read our measured processing times.
Your MSIC is a national card. An MSIC issued by ClientView is valid at Albany and at every other security regulated port and offshore facility in Australia.
Southern Ports ceased managing and issuing MSICs from 3 April 2025; that responsibility now sits with an authorised issuing body. Southern Ports continues to issue its own Access Cards. Confirm current arrangements directly with Southern Ports.
Southern Ports states all personnel requiring unescorted access to its managed ports, including Albany, must hold a current MSIC, a Letter of Operational Need and completed induction. Its Supervised Access Worker card is a short-term escorted alternative only, valid for up to five days, not a substitute for the MSIC itself. Read Southern Ports' port access page.
