Unescorted entry needs a Pilbara Ports site induction; an MSIC is required only while a land-side restricted zone is in force around a dangerous goods vessel, and anyone without both is escorted through the Security Gatehouse.
Your MSIC is a national card. An MSIC issued by ClientView is valid at Ashburton and at every other security regulated port and offshore facility in Australia.
Pilbara Ports confirms an MSIC is required for access to the Land side Restricted Zone at Ashburton, which is established only around dangerous goods vessel arrivals and departures. Workers still need a completed Pilbara Ports site induction even outside an activated zone, so confirm current zone activation and access requirements with Pilbara Ports or your employer. Pilbara Ports publishes the MSIC requirement for the Ashburton restricted zone and runs its own site induction; it does not offer an MSIC application service of its own. Once you are verified we lodge your application with AusCheck. We lodge ready applications every business day.
After approval your MSIC is printed and sent by registered post to the address you nominate.

A Maritime Security Identification Card shows that you have met the background checking requirements for unmonitored access to a maritime security zone at an Australian port, on a ship or at an offshore facility. It is issued under the Maritime Transport and Offshore Facilities Security Regulations 2003, made under the Maritime Transport and Offshore Facilities Security Act 2003.

A written confirmation, usually from your employer, that your job genuinely requires unmonitored access to a maritime security zone at least once each year (r. 6.07F(1)). Without it an application cannot proceed. On our Silver and Gold levels we help you get it sorted.
No. Any criminal history declaration required for an MSIC is made to AusCheck, not to ClientView. As your issuing body, ClientView does not collect or assess criminal history. AusCheck advises us of the outcome only.
Renew before the expiry date to keep continuous access, since an expired card means no unmonitored access from day one. If your card is lost, stolen or damaged, apply for a replacement straight away.
