Ashburton

Western Australia

Port of Ashburton, near Onslow in the Pilbara, primarily serves the Wheatstone LNG project and associated offshore and supply base activity.

The entire Port of Ashburton site is security-regulated, though its Land-side Restricted Zone, and the MSIC requirement that comes with it, is only established for a window around the arrival and departure of dangerous-goods security-regulated vessels, not permanently in force.

ClientView is an Australian Government authorised MSIC issuing body. Apply online in 10 to 15 minutes, verify your identity at a participating Australia Post outlet in Onslow or Karratha, and we lodge every ready application with AusCheck each business day. Our measured median time from a complete application to AusCheck lodgement was 1 business day over the 12 months to June 2026. Start your application or read our measured processing times.

Local requirements

Your MSIC is a national card. An MSIC issued by ClientView is valid at Ashburton and at every other security regulated port and offshore facility in Australia.

Unescorted workers still need a completed Pilbara Ports site induction even outside an activated zone. Confirm current zone activation and access requirements with Pilbara Ports or your employer.

Pilbara Ports confirms an MSIC is required for access to the Land-side Restricted Zone at Ashburton, which is established only around dangerous-goods vessel arrivals and departures. Read Pilbara Ports' Ashburton visiting-the-port page.
